RBR40 Unable to update firmware to 2.3.5.34
For RBR40, have tried to update from 2.3.5.30 to .34 via mobile and manually. Mobile returns error that no update available, while Explorer give error that disk file is corrupted. Any solution plea...

PLEASE DO NOT OPEN THE .IMG files. You have to apply them in the RBR web page with a web browser on a PC or laptop. YOu have to log into the RBRs web page and use the FW update feature there to apply the IMG file. They are processed and used by the RBR or RBS web page only. They can't be opened.

That's the site I downloaded the files from before, but I deleted them and re-downloaded the RBR and RBS updates with Firefox (as before)
on a wired laptop running W10. I extracted both the RBR and RBS files using Explorer and got the same error on both files: Couldn't mount the file the disk image is corrupted.
Are you able to download and open the files?
Thanks

Are you going into the RBRs web page and under AdvancedTab/Administration/Firmware Update then selecting the Manual Update tab, then selecting the Browse button then navigating to where the unpacked .IMG file is and highlighting it then select the UPLOAD button?
Just downloaded both RBR and RBS files and unpacked them. Both have a .IMG file

I went to the site you included in your previous note: https://www.netgear.com/support/product/rbk40.aspx#download
then clicked the Download link on both:
RBR40 Firmware Version 2.3.5.34 - Hot Fix
File size: 31.4 MB
and
RBS40 Firmware Version 2.3.5.34 - Hot Fix
File size: 21.4 MB
After unzipping, both are .img files, but still getting corrupted file message when I try to open. Could this be caused by initially trying to do a mobile install? Were you successful in opening the .img files?
Thanks.

Was finally able to understand proper procedure - I appreciate your help.
May I suggest the following clarifications to the steps to manually update:
- Go the Netgear website, find your device model # and download the firmware zip file to Explorer
- Unzip the file to show the .img file
- Go to your device website (in this case Orbilogin.net) and login.
- Navigate to Advanced, Administration, Firmware Update, Manual Update
- Browse and locate the .img file to upload from Explorer
- The .img should install and update the firmware
I wasn't able to find this procedure on Netgear's support site.
Thanks again for your help.
