RBR50 - 2.7.2.104 firmware - Issues?
To whom it may concern, FURRYe38: After upgrading my firmware to 2.7.2.104, I have been having issues. Devices successfully connect to the Orbi, but have no internet. If I reboot the Orbi and ...

And in the meantime the firmware is still available for download without any comments on known issues.
It seams that things like this is outside the normal service procedures and therefore ignored. The problem, as customer, is that moving to another company makes no difference as the other company will have similar processes in place.

The root of the problem is that most people interpret 'available' to mean 'must have'
sad

If teh only description in the release note is security fixes and the device portal highlights and recommends a firmware update is must have maybe the preferred response.

Indeed, I had been lured into a false sense of security because previous firmware upgrades had always been problem-free.
Now that I know about the community, in the future I will check this board for potential problems before I update.
However, let me emphasize that doing the factory reset, as described, was painless. Had I known how painless it would have been, I could have saved hours upon hours.
If NETGEAR cares, I have a pretty good idea what happened. They should feel free to contact me. (I know I'm listed as "Initiate" but I'm not by a long shot.)

No, the root problem is effectively that this FW update is still available.
Can you imagine all people who are not on the forums and so one and can't fix this problem ???
Here is what to be done :
- removing the FW from DL list and auto update feature
- fix the bug
- quickly go for an update (DL+auto update) which will fix his lazy bug for ever.
Just a note:
- I have changed NTP : no effect, still the issue.
- I have switch off TM : no problem anymore (about 5h of fully available connexion)
The real problem is: is there any testing puprose in Netgear developper team ???

I'm fed up with the Netgear Orbi zealots BS blaming the users for installing software updates that the company released. By now it's obvious the software releases by Netgear Orbi have not been fully tested & we're the guinea pigs for what's suppose to be commercial software. Version 2.7.2.104 was put out over 2 months ago & with all the problems that users have encountered Netgear had not reported any issues on their firmware download pages or FIXED THE DAMN FIRMWARE.
We're at a point now that users have no idea when to update Orbi software. Netgear has lost all credibilty. Orbi - Performance may be great but reliability sucks.
