It is correct that Netgear routers default to 192.168.1.1 for their LAN interface and change to 10.0.0.1 when their WAN interface is assigned an IP in the 192.168.1.x subnet. (and also generally a result of having more than one router.) But that is not irrelevant to the discussion.
- Firefox (Windows) and Safari (iPhone) connect to the router web interface at 10.0.0.1 with the usual security warnings, but
- Chrome and Edge (Windows) respond that that 10.0.0.1 cannot be found.
The solution is to use Firefox on Windows and Safari on Apple devices.
The question is what would cause Chrome and Edge (based on Chrome) to display this message and what can be done to those browsers to prevent that from happening.

Yes - what would cause Chrome and Edge to display those messages and what can be done to those browsers to prevent that from happening with 10.0.0.1?
