RBR50 - Speed out of router is 10x slower than speed into it

I've got fiber optic internet service.  Speedtest with a PC wired to modem is about 900 both ways.  When I wire the Orbi router to the modem and wire the PC to the Orbi, my speeds barely break 90.

Firmware V2.5.1.8

Is there a fix for this?

What is the Mfr and model# of the ISP modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?

Be sure to use a good quality LAN cable. CAT 6 is recommended.

Has a factory reset and setup from scratch been performed since last FW update? Power OFF the ONT for 1 minute the back ON, then walk thru the setup wizard on the RBR. Be sure to not enable QoS, Traffic Meter, Access Controls, Armor and Circle.

CAT6 is only useful if all the equipment in the run are also CAT6 or better. Most ONTs are going to be CAT5, CAT5E at most. Buying CAT6 or better cables is a waste of money where the network is 1Gbps or less and the equipment isn't enterprise grade. Now if you are putting in 10Gb networking gear then CAT6 would be worth the money but when installing 10Gb we usually install Twinax or fiber with SPF+ modules.

Ive been using and recommending CAT6 for past 10+ years. CAT6 is cheaper now days and inexpesive and very affordable. Wasn't that expensive back then either. CAT6 has better performances and handling for 1Gb home networks. You don't have to have enterprise class networks to use CAT6. There nothing in the rule books about this. For 10Gb is best wtih CAT6A cabling or above. Something I installed to future proof my home a while back. You can have CAT5e at the ONT, however it's not hard to change out to CAT6 or above from the ONT to the router.

We are still waiting on 10Gb speed for the home.
