RBR50 AC3000 router- what is max speed it can accept from router?

I have the Orbi RBR50 AC3000 system connected to Netgear CM1100 modem. Comcast swears I have 1gbs download speed, but the most I measeure on Netgear Orbi app is 700-800 mbs.

is the router capable of using /registering 1gbs if the internet provider is actually providing it?

thanks

  • What Firmware version is currently loaded?

What are the speeds tested with a wired PC directly connected to the CM Modem?

Have the ISP check the signal and line quality UP to the modem.
Be sure there are no coax cable line splitters in the between the modem and ISP service box.
Be sure your using good quality RG6 coax cable up to the modem.

Wired speeds if your PC is capable, should need near 900Mpbs +- 20-30Mpbs.

Test with Ooklas installable speed test app. Don't use the RBRs QoS app or Orbi app.

Thanks. For some reason I get no connection when I use a LAN cable from my PC direct into the Netgear CM1100 cable modem. However, when using LAN cable from PC to ORBI router with all other devices off the network and using Ookla app on PC, finally measured 900-940mbps incoming to PC, with the 41mbps upload speed.

I guess thats as good as it will get with the older ORBI RBR50 / AC3000 router set up.

      thanks

      • You have to power cycle or reboot the CM modem when you connect your PC to the modem. You can connect the RBR and PC to the modem at the same time to see if they both get an IP address.
