RBR50 and EE 4G
I’ve been using Orbi RBR 50 and two satellites with a Huawei 4G router in bridge mode with a Lyca mobile sim without issue for 6 months. I went over the fair use policy with lyca mobile so switched to...

Something to contact the Mfr of Lyca and EE for help and information regarding there product and what it supports. IF Orbi is working with other SIM Mfrs, kinda points to something that Lyca or EE is doing.
Good luck.

There appear to be a number of Huawei 4G routers. Which specific model is this?
If it "works fine" without the Orbi, that means it has been switched back into router mode, correct?
What happens if the Orbi is connected at that point? (leaving the Huawei in router mode)
Every time the SIM is switched, both the Huawei and Orbi are powered off. Huawei started first, then Orbi, correct?
One would hope that EE and Huawei have user forums?
- Jago3183Sep 26, 2024TutorHi, the router is a Huawei B535 and yes to test that it wasn’t just the sim I put it back into router mode and it works fine like that. As soon as I connect the orbi it doesn’t get internet.
Yes I am following that sequence when sim switching. - Jago3183Sep 26, 2024TutorSorry missed your other question. If I connect the orbi when in router mode Orbi still gets not internet

Is there a device (other than the Orbi) that can be connected to the Ethernet port of the Huawei B535 when it has the EE SIM installed? (desktop, laptop, television?)
When most customers connect their own mesh WiFi system to an Internet Service Provider device, such as the Huawei B535, they choose to (a) disable WiFi on the ISP device, and (b) configure the system to have "only one router", either by putting the ISP device in bridge mode or putting their mesh WiFi system in Access Point (AP) mode. Their goals are (a) to reduce WiFi competition and (b) to eliminate the potential problems of a "Double NAT".
However, these steps are not necessary for their mesh system to have internet access.
The Huawei B535 working as expected with three different SIMS but failing with the EE SIM is truly a puzzle. If the Huawei B535 will issue an IP address to any device connected to one of those four gigabit Ethernet ports, it should issue an IP address to the Orbi router. (and the Orbi should have internet access).
- Jago3183Sep 26, 2024TutorThanks for your response. With every sim I have previously tried when deciding which was the best speed/signal it all just worked without issue so I’m at a loss as to why it won’t work.
Will have another play around when so get home and I’m really hoping it will resolve itself!
