RBR50 and RBS50 firmware upgrades

I have the Orbi RBR50 router and one RBS50 satellite. Both have the oldest/original firmware. What is the best process to upgrade firmware to the newest versions? I’m missing many options because I’m on the oldest firmware (guest Wi-Fi, remote mgmt)

What version is listed on the RBR and RBS?

Download the following versions of FW for the RBR and RBS:

    v2.0.0.74

    v2.2.1.212

    v2.5.1.16

    from NG download site.

Use a wired PC connected to the RBS and RBR and a web browser. I recommend Firefox or Opera.

Update the RBS first, apply v2.0.0.74. I believe you can go from there directly to v2.5.1.16. After the RBS is updated, apply v74 to the RBR, then v212 and lastly v16.

IF you loose connection to the RBS, leave the wired PC connected to the RBS and give it 5 minutes then log into the RBS at 192.168.1.250 to apply FW files using the web browser.

I would recommend performing a factory reset and setup from scratch with the RBS and RBR.

It’s the original firmware version. If I factory reset after FW upgrade, I’m assuming those upgrades stay in place?

One other thing, when you say connect directly to the satellite... I have a connection directly from my router to a PC. Is that all I need?
