RBR50 and RBS50 Satellites - Ethernet Backhaul
My router and one satellite have the same firmware and pair up fine for wired backhaul. My second satellite has different firmware version and will not pair up for wired backhaul, just 5G wireless, per the Orbi phone app. So, is it the firmware version being different than the router that's keeping it from connecting the wired backhaul? Tested the Ethernet connections back to the router....they're fine. The system works but I'm doing 4k video thru it and speed is my friend. Also, Orbi info leads one to believe that all you need to do to get the wired backhaul to go is hook it up to the router. Is that true or is there a forcing function that leaves it no option?

FW needs to be same version between RBR and RBS for them to work properly.

Yes, this is the procedure. Connect satellite to router, and within a few minutes they will detect the Ethernet connection and change from WiFi to 'wired'.
Because satellites are easy to move, it is often recommended to temporarily relocate the satellite to the same room as the router and connect them directly with a short Ethernet cable. This provides a "step by step" process:
- Does it connect by WiFi? If not, then it is not likely to connect as 'wired'.
- Does it change to 'wired' with a short cable? If not, then in-house wiring will not work.
- Does it change to 'wired' using in-house wiring? If not, there is something about the cable path that is not working. (one or more wall jack R45 connections, physical cable, patch cable, etc.)
