This question pops up from time to time, and the answer seems to be "it depends". The Orbi WiFi5 satellites appear to work when connected to the WiFi6 router with ethernet, which is (obviously) a tremendous impracticality for most of us.
People who follow the Orbi AX forum are more likely to be "up to date" on this issue.

- Correct. Orbi AC satellites can currently work if connected wired with Orbi AX router (wired backhaul) but not via wireless backhaul.
Wireless backhaul between Orbi AC and Orbi AX will be supported later according to previous communicated information from Netgear.
