Would you mind identifying the type of backup server?  In a technical sense, would it be more correct to say that the devices wishing to back up are not able to connect to the server (rather than the server connect to them)?

 

The request to know specifics about components, especially switches, is germane because IGMP snooping has been shown to interfere with activities that depend on IP multicast technology.
