RBR50 Constant Random Disconnects

This issue has been happening for me since I bought this product in September of last year, randomly with no notice the RBR unit will reset MULTIPLE times in a row. Current *FORCED* Firmware is (2.7.3.22)

1. I've turned off "Automatically Adjust for DST" previously

2. I've stopped using Netgears NTP previously, instead using Google's

3. I've Factory Reset them at least 3 times now

After I followed those steps a couple months ago everything seemed to be working fine, then after a local power outage the other week it's started happening again except this time I can't change those setting BECAUSE THEY NEVER CHANGED from my previous "fix".

So my last attempt last night after the unit had dropped connection 10 times in 5 minutes was to download an older Firmware(2.7.2.104), disconnect the units from WAN and downgrade them. I then proceeded to Enable Telnet and 0 set the ~12 settings listed in another post on this forum. That was about 11PM I completed those changes and Factory Reset and setup the units again, and from 11PM until about 2AM when I went to sleep everything seemed to be working fine. From what I could see Updates were blocked as in my RBR config page is was telling me there was new Firmware but was not automatically updating.

BOY WAS I WRONG... [Initialized, firmware version: V2.7.3.22] Sunday, February 27, 2022 03:52:44 ... As soon as it was put back on this garbage Firmware this started again (see picture). It's done sets of disconnects 3 more times since then.

I am so tired of this, I spent $400 on these damn things and I can't even sit down for an evening on my PC without these things dropping connection.

FYI my current Network Map would look like [ISP MODEM/ROUTER] --> [RBR50] --> [RBS50] --> [Wired PC] ... Daisy Chain Topology enabled. It's the RBR50 dropping off because it also takes out all of my WiFi when it happens.

What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?

If your ISP Modem already has a built in router and wifi. This would be a double NAT (two router) condition which isn't recommended. https://kb.netgear.com/30186/What-is-Double-NAT

    Couple of options,
    1. Configure the modem for transparent bridge or modem only mode. Then use the Orbi router in router mode. You'll need to contact the ISP for help and information in regards to the modem being bridged correctly.
    2. If you can't bridge the modem, disable ALL wifi radios on the modem, configure the modems DMZ/ExposedHost or IP Pass-Through for the IP address the Orbi router gets from the modem. Then you can use the Orbi router in Router mode.
    3. Or disable all wifi radios on the modem and connect the Orbi router to the modem, configure AP mode on the Orbi router. https://kb.netgear.com/31218/How-do-I-configure-my-Orbi-router-to-act-as-an-access-point and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H7LOcJ8GdDo&app=desktop

What is the size of your home? Sq Ft?
What is the distance between the router and 📡 satellite(s)? 30 feet or more is recommended in between RBR and RBS📡 to begin with depending upon building materials when wirelessly connected.

Thanks for posting the screen shot.  Would it be convenient to look at the Orbi log (under the Advanced Tab, Administration menu) and confirm that the router was rebooting constantly, rather than losing internet?

Blocking firmware updates using telnet is a 'solution' that no longer works.  And, if it did work, any power failure will erase all those settings and the firmware will immediately update.  There is a solution that is described in this article I found on the web:
