RBR50 drops Wi-Fi but VPN via Ethernet works

This just recently started. I just got a new computer from work. The problem is all my Wi-Fi devices including my personal laptop connected with an ethernet cable to the Orbi, all drop their connection but my work computer that is also connected to the Orbi via an ethernet cable will stay connected through VPN. I have to restart the Orbi daily and sometimes that doesn’t work. I then restart my modem and that seems to work. I don’t understand why my work laptop VPN directly connected to the Orbi causes my other Wi-Fi devices to all lose Wi-Fi connection.

You may need to provide a lot more detail to get much further.

To  me this suggests that you may need to talk to the people who provided the new computer from work.

Things like VPN may require special configuration. That is down to the people who provide it.

Did all this start when you got the new computer? Apart from the VPN, what did you have to do to get it to work?

As far as I know, this started when I got the new computer from work.  I don't really see why that would cause the issue because I've always needed to VPN from home through my work computer.  The real difference is my previous computer used a docking station with ethernet port.  My new computer doesn't have that and connects directly with the ethernet cable.  I have since removed the ethernet cable and I haven't lost a connection so far.

So, to recap.  When my work computer is connected via ethernet directly to the Orbi, my work computer retains internet while all my other WiFi devices seem to get booted.

OK. So it is the PC that is new, not the VPN.

The docking station shouldn't make any difference. But it suggests to me that the new (Winxdows?) PC has a configuration issue that interferes with the Orbi router.

So the new PC is fine on wifi?

Did I ask about the modem/gateway in front of the router? What is it?
