RBR50 Flashing White Continually - Won't allow for ethernet connection either

Orbi RBS50 Flashing White Continually - Won't allow for ethernet connection either

I am looking (and hoping) for any ideas that the community might have on an issure with my Orbi system. I woke up yesterday to find the Orbi RBR50 ring light on top of the unit continually pulsating white and no longer allow connectivity.  I can only assume there was some sort of firmware update failure during the night. I have followed the various suggestions to attempt to factory reset the router, but so far none of the reset attempts have changed the situation.  One thing I have noticed that after holding down the restart button for an extended period of time (getting first the solid amber power light and then the blinking amber power light) I will see the ring quicky flash green and orange before beginning to flash white again.

I also tried to to follow the instructions to update the firmware using the TFTP client. Unfortunately when I connect my computer to the RBR50 using an Ethernet cable the Ethernet connection cycles through either being connected or showing the cable unplugged every ten seconds through the Mac network panel. I can plug my computer directly into the modem with the ethernet cable with no problems so the ethernet connection/disconnection issues appear also to be related to the Orbi.  I am looking for any ideas on where to go next.  The RBR50 is less than two years old.  The ISP's modem/router Manufacturer and Model # is the Arcadyan PRV3397B-R-L-T. The ISP is Orange (I live in Spain).

  • So with the RBR disconnected from the ISP modem, connect 1 wired PC to the back of the RBR and press the reset button for 15 seconds then release. Does the top ring LED turn on WHITE and blink then slowly pulsate white?

Are you able to access the RBRs web page at 192.168.1.1 at all after the LED slowly pulsates WHITE?

Thanks for getting back to me FURRYe38.  I just ran through your instructions a few times, and the below outcome is reproducible everytime.

-The top ring LED is blinking white (a 1 second interval).

-If I hold the reset button for 15 seconds I see the following behaviors.

-20 seconds after the reset the top ring LED goes from blinking white to pulsating white (a 1.5 second interval).

-40 seconds after the reset the top ring LED goes dark for a second then quickly blinks green then orange and then another very quick flash of orange.

-After that the top ring LED goes back to blinking white.

      Unfortunately not

I would say that the RBR is faulty and needs replaced. Even if the TFTP method doesn't work. :smileysad:
