RBR50 Hardwire satellite
I have an Orbi RBR50 router with an an Orbi52 Harman/Kardon speaker satellite. I ran a Cat5e Ethernet cable between the two to have the satellite hardwired to the RBR50 router. My ISP is Verizon Fios...
- Oct 04, 2020If the RBS40V shows connected you have completed the setup. Now you are ready to setup the Alexa mode.
I would ignore the status if the satellite shows good and is working, as should. The GUI and app can report wrong.

My ISP is Verizon Fios internet only. No TV. No phone. No bundle of any kind. App version is 2.6.4.13. Firmware version is V2.5.1.16.
i can not get the Connection Type to switch from 5G to Hardwired. I have read the article regarding setting up the “backhaul” connections, but nothing has worked. The RBR50 router is bridged to the Verizon Quantum modem/router in AP mode. It seems, according to the articles I’ve read, that this change over should be a simple plug & play with a router reboot. Do I need to do a factory reset and reinstall?
I am assuming you are referring to the RBS40V satellite. First make sure it is not in extender mode.
Then factory reset it, pair it to the router, place it where you want it and plug it in. That's all you need to do. The app and GUI may show wireless 5G until you Re-Boot the system, but be assured it is hardwired.
These days you can't totally trust what you see in the App and GUI. I find missing devices, wired saying wireless and reversed.
