I have a ORBI RBR50 with one RBS50 satellite and have been using a chromecast to stream video however recently the speed of the wifi connection to the chromecast has dropped to about 1Mbps, all other...

Thanks for the quick response. All other devices on the network are achieving good speed, about 100Mbps, it is just the chromecast that has the slow speed. I haven't tried setting up the Orbi in router mode. I will look at this tomorrow if I can't find an alternative solution. I turned the chromecast off and on again which seems to have fixed the speed at the moment. If it returns to the slow speed I will look to set at the Orbi as the router.

To rule out the Orbi as the problem, connect the Chromecast directly to the router, bypassing the Orbi. I also read where Chromecast is having some issues with router, pertaining to chromecast settings.
Go into the hidden settings menu and play with bit rates.
Also, what are you streaming from to the Chromecast, as there are reports of some Android devices having problems, bringing down internet speeds? Quote: "Anyone who uses an Android phone and a Chromecast built-in device (Google Home, Chromecast, Android TVs, etc.) on the same Wi-Fi network may be affected by the bug".
Did you run Speedcast to see your Chromecast speed?
I doubt the Orbi being in AP mode has anything to do with your issue, especially since all other devices have good speeds. Logically speaking, this points to the Chromecast.
