rbr50 keeps losing wifi or is very slow, just started this

This may be a case where our expectations about how computers ought to perform* does not match how they actually perform. When the Orbi web interface or the Orbi 'app' display information about Connected Devices, they pull information from some internal tables. Those tables do not update instantly when "something changes". Rather, there is some routine buried in the firmware that periodically goes through the device list and records status information.
Often when I arrive home, my phone connects to a satellite in the garage as soon as it detects an SSID that it recognizes. This connection is usually at 2.4G. I walk into the house, climb the stairs and my phone reconnects at 5G to the router I am sitting four feet from. But... the Orbi reports I am connected to the garage satellite at 2.4G. Open the phone Wireless Settings and it clearly shows connected at 5G.
After the swearing stops, I often pull up the Attached Devices screen again and find (shazam!) that the Orbi thinks I am attached directly to the router at 5G!
There is no documentation (that I have ever found) about how the internals of the router function, such as how often the router updates internal tables.
* Another example might be: why does it take almost three minutes for the bloody thing to turn on??? C'mon. It's a computer for God's sake. Well, it's doing something all that time and we users have no idea what.

"kicked out" means that a device is connected to the Orbi WiFi and then..... (what?)
- No, since November in fact I had an issue after sorry had to pay, after power went out I could not get sat online, took them hours to get it running. Then it started to do this, in ready to return it
