RBR50 not connecting to internet

You are correct that a Factory Reset of an Orbi router (RBR50) should result in the router broadcasting the SSID that is printed on the label, something like "ORBIxx" with a WiFi password that is also printed on the label. The situation you describe is not expected.
You are also correct that firmware 2.3.1.210 can only be updated to firmware 2.3.1.212. This is necessary because back in 2016 the engineers set a "maximum size" for the Orbi firmware and did not anticipate that Netgear would want to include Disney Circle and Armor into the firmware, which pushed the size over the maximum limit. After updating to 2.3.1.212, the Orbi can be updated to any later firmware release (if that should be desirable. There is a raging debate over the wisdom of doing so.)
I am puzzled (and almost alarmed) that this is the second report of this Hardware Version: Invalid HW ID< use default Orbi.in the past week. I have been part of the communit forum for over a year and do not recall seeing mention of this situation before.
Power outages do strange things to electronics. Electronics are supposed to be designed to withstand power outages.

Thanks for the reply CrimpOn. No this was the main router web home page. I tried to factory reset it again but still the same. Looks like I might have to replace it on warranty.
