RBR50 Port forwarding not working

Hi,

I'm trying to set up an minecraft server for me and my friends at school and i need to port forward port number 25565, but it doesnt work. My router from ISP is in bridge mode, im not using DDNS, i have IPv6 disabled but still it shows that port 25565 is closed.

I also found something weird it shows that port 443 for HTTPS is also closed which is not possible because i can still use internet.

I tried connecting to my minecraft server using my external IP but it didnt work since port 25565 is closed.

I attached photo of settings of port forwarding.

Thank you.

These are separate issues.  Port forwarding refers only to allowing a connection from the internet to a device on the LAN.  In the other direction (going to the internet) all ports are open.  From within the LAN, a device can connect to any port (21 for FTP, 53 for DNS, 80 for http, 443 for https, and so on.....  All ports are open going out.

What do web sites such as Gibson Research Shields Up! say about your ports?

    https://www.grc.com/shieldsup

You will have to enter port 25565 specifically as it is not one of the commonly scanned ports.

Does Shields up and other web sites (such as https://www.whatismyip.com/ ) report the Orbi public IP to be the same as the Orbi web interface, Advanced Tab, Internet box?  (This is a check that the ISP device is actually in "modem mode".)

Port Forwarding accepts packets and sends them to a device on the local LAN.  If that device does not accept the connection, then it will appear that the port is closed.  (i.e. the router does not make any response at all. That is up to the device on the LAN.)  On my Windows computers, the Windows Firewall has separate settings for Private and Public networks. This allows me to open an FTP server for my local security cameras, but prevent connection from any IP that is not on my LAN.)

My public IP from whatismyip.com matches the one in on the orbi admin panel, tried looking up 25565 port on https://www.grc.com/shieldsup but it shows that it is closed. And i have port 25565 open on my computer.

      Thank you.

An interesting dilemma.  When I probe my computer, Shields Up! reports that the port is "Stealth".

Gibson says that Stealth means the connection attempt was ignored.  Closed means that the computer refused the connection.

        https://www.grc.com/su/portstatusinfo.htm

This indicates to me that the router passed the connection attempt to the computer and the computer refused the connection.

i.e. time to focus on the computer rather  than the router.
