Hello Selecta,
Welcome to the NETGEAR Community!
I understand that you are using the TFTP method on your RBR50. Please keep in mind that at times it will take more than one attempt to be successful. Please navigate to the link below for step-by-step instructions on how to TFTP to your Orbi router RBR50.

Make sure you enable tftp: https://www.thewindowsclub.com/enable-tftp-windows-10
Video walk through using a tftp client. Use the built in one for windows 10 though. the video is more of an example of how its done:

Try nmrpflash:

Thank you both for your feedback and community support - stubborn is one word I must have tried this 20 times
I followed to the letter (same as prior) but I now see that on step 10 - turning the router back on I do not get a flashing orange light - it stays a constant green with the LED ring still flashing white?
Turn your router off for 10 seconds.
Turn your router back on.
Wait for the Power LED to light orange and start flashing.
When the Power LED is flashing, click Put in Tftpd64 to initiate the firmware upload. The upload might take a few minutes.- SelectaDec 20, 2022AspirantI assume the router is not connecting to the PC so will not allow the flash - also tried swapping the TCP/IPv4 from 0 to 1 as per video no joy - it pains me to say it but I am clearly not techy to sort this out - painfully expensive but have ordered a new system -
