my router is set up to use Ethernet cable or fitting for "internet port" my new home uses coax cable hookups...is there an adapter that enables use of ethernet to coax hookup?

No.
Visit your ISPs website.
Look at what hardware it supplies when people sign up for its service.
Most ISPs will deliver a modem or modem/router
If you do not want to use, and pay for, the ISP's equipment, look for a list of modems that are compatible with its network.
