RBR50-V2.7.6.6 firmware install issues
I have repeatedly tried installing via both the mobile app and downloading the latest firmware directly from Orbi and ran into issues.
When I try using the mobile app and ask it to check for updates, it soon comes back with "Firmware Check Error." In attempts to download the firmware by way of computer, I receive notice that the disk image (.img file) is corrupt.
I am using the latest versions of the iPhone and Mac operating systems on hardware less than a year old.

Any progress on this?

Apologies. I am on V2.7.5.6. I am supposed to be on 2.7.6.6 per Orbi app and Support page (except according to its browser interface).

Thank you, both, but neither approach worked. Repeated attempts, including on a different OS, still showed a corrupted file. I also tried resetting the Orbi router and then accessing it through the browser. It tells me that 2.7.6.5 is the latest version and not 2.7.6.6 event though the app is telling me I need to update the router due to new version of the OS, and the related product support page states I need to update to 2.7.6.6.

Where are you seeing this message that the file is corrupt? on the RBR or RBS web page when trying to send it to the RBR or RBS web page or are you trying to open the file on the Mac desktop?

Sometimes a file does not download correctly. It cannot hurt to return to the Netgear site and download new copies of the router and satellite firmware:
https://kb.netgear.com/000070455/
Unpack the zip files to extract the *.img files for router and satellite.
As FURRYe38 points out, it is highly recommended to update the satellite(s) first and update the router after all satellites are updated.

Do NOT attempt to open the file. Just use the web browser to navigate to where the file is.
Try Safari or Firefox browsers on Mac and load any RBS first using there web pages to load the file then the RBR lastly:
