RBR50 will not connect with Verizon G1100 Router

I connected the ORBI to Verizon router using the recommended setup but I cannot get a connection. ORBI sequence is like this - quick white flash for 30 sec then slow white flash for 1:45 then no light. I try to connect but get "failed to obtain IP address" message. Tried this twice with no luck. Any suggestions on how to proceed?

Make sure you reboot the router before starting, then factory reset the Orbi router just to make sure there are no previous installs, that may cause issues. Run a network cable from the LAN port of the G1100 to the WAN port of the RBR50 and perform the setup. Arguably I prefer using the app. When the Orbi comes up and is pulsating, find its WIFI and log into it, then run the app and install the router.

If your G1100 has a network cable coming to it, that is plugged into its WAN port, you can bypass the G1100 and plug directly into the Orbi and run the install.

Thanks. I have tried rebooting the ORBI (paperclip right?) to no avail and I thought the modem reboots when you unplug it for 10 seconds before starting the process. I cannot shut down the wifi right now but will try again following your suggestions later.

OK. A retry of the process was successful! I believe that I did not complete the reboot process on the ORBI the first time (i.e. did not hold the paperclip in long enough). Thanks for the help.
