RBR50

Just yesterday, my Orbi RBR50 started disconnecting from the internet. I could not open internet pages. I checked the internet signal from my service provider by plugging the computer directly into an Ethernet cable from the internet. It works. When I try to connect via Wi-Fi, I get an error message that says “Cannot Find Server”. I can only access and use Wi-Fi when logged on to my VPN. That was never necessary before.

When you connected the computer using an ethernet cable, did you connect it to the RBR50 or one of its satellites or directly to your ISP's modem?  This helps us understand if the issue is specific to the Orbi wifi or perhaps a problem with Orbi wifi+ethernet.

If you can access and use wifi via VPN, then that sounds like the Orbi's internet connection is working and maybe you just have a DNS issue.

    1. Do you have wifi "cannot find server" issues just with the one computer or also with other devices (like your phone)?
    2. If just the one computer has issues, is it Windows or Mac.  Can you forget/reset the wifi connection and set it up again?  Your symptoms cold be caused if you misconfigure DNS in some way.
    3. What Orbi settings have you changed recently?  For example, did you make any changes to Advanced... Internet Setup... Domain Name Server (DNS) Address / Use These DNS Servers?
    4. Worst case, if you factory reset your Orbi and set everything up again then do you still have the problem?
