RBR50

I have a RBR50 Orbi router that I purchased in Jan 2023. Within the last few weeks to a month we have noticed the speeds slow down for our wifi. It went from over 300mps to 90 or lower. We contacted our internet provider and ran the internet directly from the modem and were reaching speeds close to the 300mps. Once we hooked it back up to the Orbi we are back down to 90mps or lower. How do I correct this? I have rebooted and restarted the Orbi about 5 times now and nothing improved. How can I get this corrected. The buffering is annoying.

    What is that modem?

  • Have tagged the more appropriate RBK53, a kit made up from a (1) Orbi Router (RBR50) and (2) Orbi Satellites (RBS50).

The wireless on the RBR50 is spec'ed AC3000 (1733+866+400Mbps), whereas the 1733 radio is a 802.11ac PHY 1733 Mbps 4x4 radio, on 80 MHz channel, 400ns guard interval - when I have it right, it's reserved for the wireless backhaul for connecting Orbi RBS50 only. The access point is a dual-band 866+400Mbps one, with a 802.11ac 866 Mbps PHY on a 80 MHz wide 2x2 channel, 400ns guard interval plus a 2.4 GHz radio. With the right wireless client, non-overlapping channels, ... there is a "budget" for more than 500 Mbps/s - more than what your ISP does assign currently.
