RBR50v2 --> RBR96 (AP Mode) Same SSID
Hello all and thanks in advance for taking the time to read my post. I have searched a few other posts that have slightly similiar issues as mine, but with a few variables and not the same solution. ...
Enlighten us what this "RBR96" is (device type[s]?), and how these devices are configured.
As I understand it, the client purchased an Orbi kit (router + two sattelites) for inside the home. At a later date, he acquired another Orbi unit (model # on back says RBR96)
Originally, the RBR96 was in router mode and hardwired back to RBR50 in the main house. There were issues as one router was plugged into another router and broadcasting two networks.
I configured the RBR86 into AP mode.
The only setting I changed on the RBR50 was set the DNS to 8.8.8.8 & 8.8.4.4

With the second Orbi in AP mode, all of the Sonos devices will get IP's in the same subnet. Placing Sonos units into groups is a question for Sonos. (I understand they are 'touchy' or was it 'tempermental'?)
But, yes, there is no reason both Orbi units cannot have exactly the same WiFi SSID/password. They will not magically become one unified network, but there is no harm in doing so.
