RBS 30 shows as connected device, can't update firmware
I've had a RBR 40 with 2 satellites (RBS30s) for a few years now. Generally it works well, or as well as Spectrum will allow it to. I have been having problems with my satellites for a few months a...

When working on that second satellite, did you move it to the same room as the router?

And I mistyped the satellite IDs - they should be RBW30s

Yes, in many ways an attractive design. No wires. No counter space. My dentist's office has them. But, I notice that none of the newer Orbi product lines have included anything similar. May not have been enough sales to justify updating the product. (sigh)
I would definitely keep it in the same room while working on it. Guess you plug it into an extension cord to do the Factory Reset? Does the power LED turn amber and begin to flash? (does it even have a power LED?)
While it is powered off, I would probably select the option on the Attached Devices page to Remove the satellite, and then after the reset, go through the process of "Add Orbi satellite".

I did not plug it into an extension cord while working on it. Should I be? What will that do?
It does have the LED status ring. When I do the resets, they turn amber and then start flashing amber before I release the reset button.
Unfortunately, because it does not show up as a satellite on the GUI, I don't have the option to remove the satellite. I can block the wifi to it, but it doesn't care because it's connecting via daisy chaining to the satellite A. I did previously unplug satellite A (and turned off daisy chaining for a bit, too) in order to force it to connect directly to RBR40, but it didn't change anything being connected directly to the router. My router is in router mode, but I did change it to AP earlier to see if that would allow me to change the connection to satellite B; it didn't. I ultimately did a complete factory reset on the router, so it's back to daisy chaining and router mode.
I have tried to go through the process of "add a satellite" but it doesn't do anything as the satellite continues to "successfully connect" (blue ring), just not as a satellite.

That's a "My Bad" on me. (making assumptions instead of reading the manual)
The description of resetting a satellite does not include a similar caveat:
I have run out of ideas. Sorry.
