I am using the App and have tried many times, the steps seem very straight forward. I did do a factory reset. Any ideas to help would be great. I moved to a much larger home and the new 6 seems pretty expensive.
As FURRYe38 mentioned, many of us are more comfortable using the Orbi web interface and a computer physically connected to the Orbi. This is not a requirement. We are simply more familiar with that process.
The point of doing a Factory Reset on those new satellites is that they were probably sync'd to a different Orbi router at one time and will be trying to connect to it. I recommend ignoring the instruction in the apps "Add a satellite" to place the satellite in a final location. How can you see what is going on if the router and satellite are in two different places? I would power up the satellite in the same room as the Orbi router. Do the Factory Reset on the satellite (not the router) and then begin the Add a satellite process. Makes it a lot more convenient to be pressing 'sync' buttons when you do not have to run down the hall or up the stairs.
After satellite #3 is connected, you may find that in order to add satellite #4, one of the existing satellites should be powered off during the process (and then turned on again). At least in the Orbi web interface, there is space in the web page for only three satellites and people use this trickto add $4, $5, and #6. (the most I have ever heard of is six satellites).
FURRYe38 is also correct that it stands to reason that the network will be the most stable when all units are on the same firmware release. Personally, I would wait to do this step until after the satellites are all connected and I can use the regular Firmware Update process to do so.
p.s. That laptop can access the Orbi web interface over WiFi. I prefer the physical contact, but it is not a requirement.

Though it may not be a requirement, if the RBS are to far out of sync in FW from the RBR, then it will be required as the only way to get the RBS updated is thru there web pages with a connected ethernet cabled PC or laptop. Just FYI.
