RBS50 2000 square feet or 2500 square feet

On my satellite box on the ORBI RBS50, its shows 2000  square feet and on the Orbi website it shows the RBS50 at 2500 square feet.

1.  Why on the box does it show the ORBI RBK50 is rated to 2000   square feet and not 2500 square feet?

2.  Is the RBK50 router putting out 2,500 square feet as well?

3.  So what is the max number of satellites that can be used at a time, and what's the max square feet total with the RBK50 router and  RBS50 satellites?

Thanks!

  • 1. Change in marketing material on the website after the box was printed. Don't worry too much about this spec. Your results will depend more on your environment than on any spec you read. You might get substantially more or substantially less coverage.

    2. Yes.

    3. Netgear recommends a max of 3 satellites for performace reasons.  All satellites share the backhaul.  People on here have reported using 4 satellites successfully. Your square foot coverage will depend most upon your environment--the construction materials, floor layout, and RF noise.  Earlier this week I did a speedtest on my iPhone over 500 feet away from my house and got 27 Mbps.  A 500-foot radius would be 785,000 SF.

      Thank you for helping me.

      1. Is that 3 satellites + router?

And one more thing I would like to know.

        2.  Will the RBS50 work with the ORBI PRO?

I wonder how using a wired backhaul would play into the picture...
