RBS50 doesn't fail over to wireless backhaul when disconnecting wired backhaul
I am using an RBR50 with one RBS50 satellite. The wireless backhaul is working well however I've recently moved to a wired backhaul with a switch between the two units. This works well too. I was...

Thanks for the suggestion FURRYe38 however it turns out that the hallway switch being in the middle of the wired backhaul is indeed causing the issue as the RBS50 still thinks it's connected to the RBR50. If I disconnect the RED cable on the diagram, the fail over to wireless backhaul happens within 3 minutes, then when I reconnect it, it switches back to the wired backhaul. But if I disconnect the GREEN cable, nothing happens, nada.
Ideally I'd need to bypass the hallway switch altogether and connect the green cable directly from the RBR50 to the RBS50 but for practical reasons (i.e. cabling in ceiling) I can't so I'll live with this.
As I said at the beginning it's not a big deal as everything is working well but it's good to know that ideally a wired backhaul should be a direct connection.
Thanks!

Something to try, Bring the RBS near the RBR or same room. 10-15 feet in between the RBS and RBR. Remove the RBS from the RBRs web page. Factory reset the RBS and wirelessly re-sync it to the RBR. Wait for the top ring to turn BLUE. Check the status on the RBRs web page. If all GOOD here, connect the RBS to the RBR using a ethernet cable. Check the status. Make sure the status goes from wireless to wired. After say 5 minutes, disconnect the LAN cable from between the RBS and RBR. Check the status on the RBRs web page. Should see wireless after say a minute or two. Check the top ring on the RBS. Should be BLUE then turn OFF after 3 minutes.
Let us know the results...

Glad you figured it out and was a simple issue. Please mark your thread as solved so others will know. Be sure to save off a back up configuration to file for safe keeping. Saves time if a reset is needed.
