The forum software package that Netgear uses does not display images placed in-line using the Photos icon until they are approved by a forum moderator (which can take hours or days). Images 'attached' using the Browse button in the lower left are available immediately.
Can you be more specific about these two satellites. i.e. what does "recognized" mean? Do they both behave the same, or are there differences between them?
I agree with vajim that used satellites can benefit from a Factory Reset to clear out information left over from their previous systems.
I am more comfortable adding satellites when they are physically in the same room as the router. Power up one of them, then open the Orbi web interface on the router and select the menu item "Add Orbi satellite" (bottom menu item) and follow the steps. After it is sync'd and working, it can then be moved to the desired location.
It seems to be common sense that router and satellites should be on the same firmware version (although I am not totally convinced that it is essential). Once satellites are part of the system, there are several methods for updating firmware on them.
- The Orbi web interface, Advanced Tab, Administration, Firmware Update should automatically scan the satellites, discover updated firmware, and offer to update them.
- If that doesn't work, the Firmware Update page has a "Manual Update" tab which allows the user to download firmware from the Netgear support web site and load it to the satellite.
- My personal favorite is to learn the IP address of the satellite, download the firmware from the Netgear site, then open the web page of the satellite itself using the IP address, and select the Firmware Update menu item on the satellite.

Thank you all. I def did the 'Factory Reset' on the satellite. Pic # one (1) is of the Orbi app showing the available network [Internet -> RBR50 (w/ green dot) -> Orbi Satellite-1 (w/green dot) & Satellite-2 (w/purple dot). Pic # two (2) was from orbilogin.com on the 'Attached Devices' screen. I see this:
Status | Device Name | IP Address | MAC Address | Connection Type | Connected Orbi | Backhaul Status | 1 |
