There should be "no problem." Notice the "What Do I Need?" on page two of the Product Data Sheet

Are you able to access the Orbi web interface? (not the "App")

In addition to the Orbi "app", the router includes its own web server that provides access to many settings and reports that the app does not. Navigate any web browser to http://orbilogin.net. When the Orbi comes "out of the box", the administrative credentials are set to "admin" and "password". This is the way routers have been set up for 20 years. (before "apps" existed). It is easiest to access the web interface using a computer (a) because the web pages are a bit too large for a tiny smartphone screen, and (b) a keyboard and mouse make manipulating the web pages much easier. A tablet (iPad, Android) will work, but is more cumbersome.
This is described starting on page 20 of the User Manual:

Routers operate by creating a "private" IP subnet on their LAN side and using Network Address Translation (NAT) to give the appearance that all data is coming from different ports on the router itself. The default for Orbi is to use 192.168.1.x (one of the three IP address spaces that are never assigned for "public" access. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Private_network
When the Orbi is connected to a router rather than directly to the internet modem, that router may assign the Orbi an IP address of 192.168.1.(somethinig). Well, darn. That IP subnet cannot be used on the "private" side of the Orbi, so the Orbi picks a different private subnet, almost always 10.0.0.x.
Conventional thinking is that having one router "behind" another router can lead to a number of problems. Netgear publishes this explanation: https://kb.netgear.com/30186/What-is-Double-NAT
The recommended solution is to make one of these routers into "something that is NOT a router." i.e.
- Put the ISP device into "bridge" or "passthrough" mode so that the public IP address is given to the Orbi rather than taken by the ISP device, or
- Put the Orbi into Access Point (AP) mode, which means that the ISP router assigns all IP addresses to everything, including the Orbi and every device that connects to the Orb.
- There is a third option of putting the Orbi into the ISP router "DMZ" that rands a (far) distant third. Either of the first two is more likel to be successful.
The Orbi should function in a Double NAT, with the restirctions mentioned in the Netgear article. Can you take a picture of the error message and post it?
