In eight years on the Community Forum, I have never seen a post from anyone identified as a Netgear software engineer. My imagination is that their time is allocated to assigned projects (probably in 15 minute increments) and browsing a user forum is not one of the assigned tasks. (where's the $$$ in that?) The actual Netgear employees participating in the forum are forum moderators tasked with keeping the forum operating.
I am still at the stage of being annoyed with Netgear because the GPL source code they publish does not allow customers to compile the firmware (as my reading of the GPL says it should).
Thanks. Well, I'm at a loss since the u boot options provided by Netgear do not seem to give me a clear path to recover the firmware. Is there anyone that has a hint at least? Wonder if there are other forums with u boot experience that might be able to assist? I don't want to give up on a $500 unit.
