rbs50y status confusion

I am activating an old orbi model to confirm its still operational as its been disconnected for over 6 months.  the status info suggests its operating and transmitting but the orbi itself looks to be turned off which it is not.  i've run through the setup twice and turned the unit off and back on.  anyone know what is going on?  latest firmware installed as well.  thanks.

  • Great guess.   It was indeed the lighting on top and bottom.  Problem solved.  Thanks!

  • Is it seen by the host router at all?
What brand and model# host router is the RBS50Y connected too?

Never had a reason to purchase an RBS50Y.  If the question is, "Why do the letters Off appear above and below the picture of the satellite?", I have no idea.  Clearly the satellite is not "off" because the satellite web interface has responded with status information.  My system has two models of WiFi5 Orbi satellites connected to the Orbi router and none of them have any text above the satellite picture and only the model number below the picture.

There is an option on the RBS50Y to control the LED lighting on the satellite. (see page 24 of the User Manual)

https://www.downloads.netgear.com/files/GDC/RBS50Y/RBS50Y_UM_EN.pdf  Perhaps "Off" refers to the current status of the LED lighting?

I would attempt to connect a WiFi device to the satellite and verify that it appears on the list of Connected Devices.
