RBS50Y Will not sync with RBR50
I bought an Outdoor Orbi in July. Have an Orbi 5 RBR50 Router with a Satellite and a Voice Satellite. All worked well. Added the Outdoor Orbi just fine. Recently it just disconnected and just flashes ...
What Firmware version is currently loaded on the RBR and RBSY?
- The RBR is 2.7.3.22
- I can’t tell you what the RBSY is because it won’t connect an I have factory reset it like I did the router and other two satellites, which connected fine again.
What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?
- It’s a Motorola SURFboard SB6141
Did you try to sync the RBSY in same room as the RBR with all other RBS turned OFF?
-Yep
What mode is the RBSY operating on? Orbi mode or Extender mode?
- It’s in Orbi mode. I even checked by switching it back and forth.

Unfortuneately the RBSY doesnt' have a ethernet port or it would be ease to get access.
Only idea I can come up with is to try setting the RBRs WPA security temporairily to NONE and see if the RBSY will connect. I presume if not, then something has happened to the RBSY or between the RBR and RBSY. Possible FW is out of sync or way off.
You might try downgrading the FW on the RBR to something older to see if the RBSY will connect. Maybe v104.
With no ethernet port on the RBSY it makes it hard to trouble shoot additional problems. But then it wouldn't be outdoor qualified if it had a ethernet port.
