Access control issue/bug with Orbi 2.7.1.60
Since I upgraded to the latest firmware, the Access Control feature in Advanced...Security in the UI doesn't work properly. When I turn access to certain devices off, it is also turning off access t...

Has a factory reset and setup from scratch been performed since last FW update?

For the record, I did a factory reset -- and it didn't solve it. So I downgraded the firmware to v2.6.1.40 and life is so much better. I'm quite certain that there is an incompatiblity between MAC address filtering ("Access Control") and this v2.7.1.60 -- possibly exacerbated by IP address reservations. But on the verge of this being the third decade of the 21st century, there is no excuse for these venerable features to be thought of as exotic -- it should just work!

Agreed, reset does not help. There does appear to be some sort of issue resolving MACs or something with 2.7.1.60.
In the meantime, I am back on 2.7.0.70 and life is good.

Well for the recorc, v2.7 version of FW have to deal with Circle support and only ment for users in the USA region.
I would keep to the v2.6 line of FW for now if your ot a Circle feature user.
Good Luck.

Thanks, FURRYe38. While I am a US customer, I am not using any of the family management or add-on security features -- which I think are the cause of all the headaches with MAC address filtering ("Access Control"). I don't think they have debugged the firmware adequately.
I do wish NETGEAR more clearly differentiated the v2.6 and v2.7 lines. My usual process is to stick with the most current (higher numbered) version to ensure I have all the latest security patches, but that approach doesn't apply here; they have "forked" development and v2.6 is serving a different customer base. I just wish they made that clear in their documentation.

Thanks for the clarification on 2.6 and 2.7. I am in the US and use Circle so I will stick with 2.7.0.70 for now. I had been using that for quite a while with no issues to speak of.
