Re: How do i get around ERR_SSL_KEY_USAGE_INCOMPATIBLE

\Ooof... Michael - don't be so literal with everything everyone says.  I knew exactly what he was saying and your responses were painful to read...

I, too, have the same issue.  Let me explain it to you in the way I would explain it to a 15 year old with 0 computer knowledge and maybe you can do the same.

When navigating to 192.168.1.1 OR www.routerlogin.net a user is greeted by an error page in their browser of choice (in this case & mine, that would be Chrome) that states the following:

This site can’t be reached
The webpage at https://192.168.1.1/ might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address.
ERR_SSL_KEY_USAGE_INCOMPATIBLE

Simply disregard anything else that was said as herein lies the root issue.  You could chase around the "well I did this and someone online said this and then that happened and my toilet overflowed..." None of this matters and you responding to any of it will simply confuse the original poster and you. (Example: your entire conversation above.)

Alas; we return to the issue at hand...

Why are people receiving this error message if/when they have changed NOTHING.

I know you are very smart, so let's just start there and pretend as though everyone is a 15 year old who knows how to browse the web and that 192.168.1.1 is how you get to your router login...

    1. [The customer's home network and ISP vary, so better not to assume the home network is on 192.168.1.1.  There are also many customer-specific reasons why the home network IP addresses range might have changed (e.g., ISP gateway upgrade, Orbi reinstall, other home network insertion).  Use routerlogin.net instead
    2. Don't use HTTPS because your Orbi router doesn't have a signed SSL certificate and the customer's browser, which varies, will probably complain in different ways.  Use HTTP instead.

Therefore - Try this instead to reach your Orbi website: http://routerlogin.net   .  Does it work and ask for your Orbi username/password?
