My RBR20 router giving intermittent internet
I am using a RBR20 Orbi router and it keeps dropping the signal or gives really poor speed. I have 580mps total for my wifi. I have spectrum and the said their modem isn’t the issue. I reboot it and i...

Ok. I believe that's a Hitron brand mode. Not the greatest.
I'd have the ISP check the signal and everything up to the modem. Might ask the ISP for an upgrade to something different or ask if you can install you own.

It was a Hitron brand. I got a new modem from the ISP because they said the ethernet port was not working since I wasn’t getting my 580mbps when directly connected. I have a technician coming out Sunday. Is that stable connection for the Orbi rbr20? It says rbk50 or something like that .

Good to know that the ethernet port on the modem seem to be the cause. Have the tech check EVERYTHING up to the modem.
Be sure your using a good quality LAN cable between the modem and RBR. CAT6 is recommended.

I had the technician come out and he said everything is working really good. Modem is solid and getting the 500mbps , But my fire sticks everywhere in the house even the one that is 10ft away from the Orbi is only getting 35mbps btw its the 4k max firestick. It just doesn't seem right. The distance on the Orbi has also tanked since having this issue a week ago. It says covers up to 2000sq the house is 1700sq. Everytime I try to upload any new firmware it says firmware check error and their was a problem checking firmware update. version I have now is V2.7.4.24. Heres the crazy part i run a speed test on the Orbi and it says its getting 580mbps, but isn't given that much out.

Is this speed checked with a wired PC connected to the back of the RBR and using Ooklas installable speed test app on the PC?
When you are testing or having things connected, turn OFF the RBS if any are deployed.
How do you have the basic and advanced wireless settings configured?
Do you have Access Controls, Armor, Circle or Traffic meter enabled?Had a factory reset been performed and setup from scratch after v.24 was loaded?

Yes that is with a wired. Yes I test my speed with Oaklas on my PC it was 170mbps.
Armor is expired but I never had it when it was first working fine. Traffic meter is off. Factory reset was performed.

I try this, find a local store or online store and get you something to try out, something else orbi, non orbi, Nighthawk or non NG. Test this different router out and see if problem resolves or not. Thinking there maybe a problem at the RBR or between the RBR and the modem. Trying a different router should give you direction.
