Orbi loosing Internet Connection
Hello - I have had my Orbi installed for less than a week. 3 time now it has lost all connection to the internet. I have to reboot, unplug, both the Orbi and my modem multiple time before I can get...

Hello Everyone
We have release firmware version 1.12.0.18 this firmware has fixes for disconnects and many more I posted the release notes below.

If you are still having issues after updating your Orbi unit you may want to factory reset the Orbi and test again. If you are still having disconnect issues or other issues with this firmware please create a new thread or contact our support team.

Mar 25, 2017Well, I can tell you that article is wrong. Eero does have QOS just an end user can't access it.
And what do you mean Orbi does not? Again, google wifi, Eero all require the internet to work for them to work.

Orbi does not require internet connectivity for the local wifi to work..... eero does.

Sure it is....
However, (according to cousin who has eero) when Internet connectiviry is lost all local wifi networking is lost. Just something to be aware of.

Actually you are wrong. I just disconnected my Internet from my Eero and my wifi still worked just fine.

Thanks for reaching out. eeros don't require an active internet connection to route local data. However, if you were to reboot your eeros during an outage, it would cause the LAN to become unreachable.
