I don't see a way to explicitly assign the SSID on the wired LAN. Is there a way to do that, and why would the wired LAN default to the guest SSID?
Thanks
Hard wired connections are not WiFi. They have no SSID. (not primary. not Guest. This is the definition of 'wired'.) Can you post a screen show showing this situation?
- hclmedJan 12, 2025AspirantI was hoping the ID was irrelevant, but it’s what shows up when hovering over the hardwired network icon in the taskbar, so it knows the SSID names. Is it safe to assume all hardwired connections are on the primary network?

Yes, by definition all hardwired connections are on the primary network IP LAN subnet.
(I have no Apple computers....) Windows computers display a 'name' for the hard wired network when the user holds the mouse over the icon: It is not entirely clear (to me) how the computer discovers this 'name'.
