I was hoping the ID was irrelevant, but it’s what shows up when hovering over the hardwired network icon in the taskbar, so it knows the SSID names. Is it safe to assume all hardwired connections are on the primary network?

Yes, by definition all hardwired connections are on the primary network IP LAN subnet.
(I have no Apple computers....) Windows computers display a 'name' for the hard wired network when the user holds the mouse over the icon: It is not entirely clear (to me) how the computer discovers this 'name'.
