Real life exceptions of Orbi RBR50
Hello all,
I just purchased Orbi system for my house which is not big and to extend to my back yard was the most important feature for me. My ISP is Verizon I have the full pachage TV/Phone/Internet on there Gigabit connection. The Orbi devices I have are the following router RBR50 firmware version V2.3.1.60 one satellite RBS50 firmware version V2.3.1.60 and outdoor satellite RBS50Y firmware version V2.3.0.28.
So the placement of my system is as follows I live on the second floor of a two family house in a city setting so house very close together. My router is in my living room which is towards the back of the house. Next my satellite is kitchen towards the front of the house and the back yard probally 15-20 feet from the router. The outdoor satellite is mounted to my deck on the ground floor probally 40-50 feet from the router. So the main area of coverage is my entertainment area of my back yard which is probally 30-40 feet away from the outdoor satellite. So I am not sure what my expections should be for this system when I am in my house testing speeds with my Iphone XS Max using Speed Test I am getting speeds of the range of 365 mbps download and 440 mbps upload connected 5GHz band. So I do not know if that is normal range or not. My concern is outside when I go into my back yard and stand next to outdoor satellite and run a speed test I get a range of 221 mbps download and 270 mbps upload once again connected to 5GHz band. Now if I step about 10 feet from outdoor satellite my phone will only connect to 2.4GHz and my speeds are 50 mbps download and 30 mbps upload. So the further I move back things stay the same. So I thought when buying this system for the money it cost I would be better results outside. My router is in AP mode and I did not touch any of the advanced settings for Wifi. So if anybody can offer any insight if they think there is a problem or this is just how it is please respond back. I'm breaking my head here. Also, I did call Netgear Technical Support but before they would give me support I had to email them my proof of purchase and I have not had the time to call back. Plus I am looking for real life applications that you guys/girls can provide based off of your own experience.
Thanks,
Alex

That seems to indicate a good backhaul connection over 5G. It seems reasonable to expect that a device would connect to the outdoor satellite over a distance of at least 50-60 feet in line of signt open air (no obstructions of any kind).
I was hoping you could use a web browser, connect to the Orbi router, and show that Attached Devices page. Would be fascinating to learn if the outdoor router is attached to the Orbi router, or to the other satellite.

What does the "Attached Devices" page show about the outdoor satellite connection?
