Replacing VTel Modem w Orbi RBR50

Has anyone replaced a VTel modem (Fiber) with an Orbi RBR50.  VTel tells me it is possible, and I am looking for some guidance.

Ask your ISP about this to see if its possible. They should have info on this.

The Orbi is a router. What does it get the Internet from? Usually there is a modem of some sort or an "ONT".

Fibre can mean anything and everything. All Internet is "fibre" somewhere and ISPs use the term indiscriminately to describe DSL, cable and optical fibre to the premises. What is VTel delivering?
