When adding a router to a modem, you need go follow the process laid own in the setup instructions.
If you can, do this with a wired connection into the router and not a wifi app.
You might get more help, and find earlier questions and answers specific to your device, in the appropriate section for your hardware. That's probably here:
Orbi - NETGEAR Communities
The clue is in the title of this section General WiFi Routers (Non-Nighthawk & Non-Orbi).
I will ask the Netgear moderator to move your message.
In the meantime you could visit the support pages:
Support | NETGEAR
Feed in your model number and check the documentation for your hardware.
You may have done this already. I can't tell from your message.
I mention it because Netgear stopped supplying printed manuals and CD versions some years ago and people sometimes miss the downloads.
- OzzieYodaAug 27, 2021AspirantModem is Arris Surfboard SB6190.
The OrbiRBR50 has worked for the past 3 years.
Internet works when hardwired from Arris modem to a device.
Internet does not work when modem is connected to router with Ethernet cable, then router is connected to a device with another ethernet cable.
I’ve made sure the MAC address is correct. I’ve Restarted and reset everything.
It definitely seems like a router issue until I found out a neighbor was on the phone with our ISP bc they’re having trouble as well. The ISP told them it’s their router.- michaelkenwardAug 27, 2021Guru - Experienced User

Have you powered OFF the ISP modem and RBR for 1 minute then back ON?
Try a factory reset and setup from scratch and walk thru the setup wizard using a PC and web browser.
