Satellite compatibility - Orbi NETGEAR Orbi RBK50
Hello,
I have a NETGEAR Orbi RBK50-100PES WLAN-Mesh System, purchased in January 2018.
I would like to buy new satellites to complete my installation, as I am in a larger house.
Currently, I have the main base and a single satellite.
I would like to add at least 2 more.
What's the maximum number of satellites I can put in?
What current products are compatible ?
Many thanks to the community for future help.
Best

Used RBS50 satellites sell for about $100 on eBay. This might be an ideal time to consider whether it is smarter to invest another $200 on a WiFi5 system or move up to a WiFi6 (or 6E) network. In the past 5-6 years, you may have invested in new devices which are compatible with WiFi6 (or 6E) and cannot take advantage of that capability because the network doesn't support it. A lot has changed since 2016 when the original Orbi was designed. None of the ubiquitous Internet of Things gizmos (smart switches, thermostats, garage door openers, etc. etc.) support WiFi6, but modern cell phones, laptops, televisions, etc. certainly do.

Thanks CrimpOn for your really interressant answer.
It's true that the question comes up of whether to change the whole system or find second-hand equipment.
I found a second-hand RBK50 system, close to my home, in excellent condition.
1 base and 1 satellite.
I'm now wondering whether I can convert the base of this new system into a sattelite, so as to have 2 new sattelites?
