Satellite Keeps losing connection
Orbi worked great the first week. Since then it drops connectivity daily along with the satellite.

Hello Doug
Have you logged into the Web UI and checked the attached devices? can you see the satellite?

Yes.... the web app shows the 2 orbis (router and Sat)
Android app show the two items as one. I wish the status light could stay on or blink to indicate staus change.
Otherwise there is no way to tell if devices are connecting to the Sat.

Yes... it does show the SAT.. but I have a WD NAS wired to the SAT, and the NAS sends me emails when internet connectivity is lost. It happens sometimes twice a day. But the Orbi displays BLUE ring?
Without a Drive attached I may have never noticed. Would like to see a method to test back haul signal strength. I am 90% happy with the pair. I teach networking at a local college. I am writing leatures for MESH Technology. I am documenting issues for student projects and review. Hoping new updates will address drop issues.
Please let me know if additional details are needed. I have been in the networking field for 10+ years and teaching for 5 years. We spend about 16 weeks working with consumer and professional base networking hardware.

Check if a new firmware version is available on the Internet. Model Name Device Name Current Version Status Router RBR50 RBR50 V2.0.0.74 No new firmware version available. Satellite RBS50 RBS50 V2.0.0.74 Service unreachable Satellite RBS50 RBS50 V2.0.0.74 Update failed Hi Darren,
Not sure from when but my Orbi system also seems to lose connection periodicly with its satelites. I am using an ethernet cable attached to the satelite for internet and it will drop for several seconds at a time every hour or so. The two satellites will also glow purple every now and then periodicly (indicating connection issue?) My satellites are visible on to the main router but seem to be connected on the 2.4 ghz band... is this the correct band or should it be the second 5ghz band for the dedicated backhaul? As you can see the firmware is up to date, but there also seems to be an error message there for the two satellites. I would really like some help with this as I have also had issues with yourt product not being compatible with my Bose sound system (even on an ethernet connection) and also had a few issues with my Google Chromecast. Both satellites are fairly close to the router (max 6 or 7 meters) and I did not have this issue before so believe that this is not a factor. I am a bit of a novice with these things so any help wqould be greatly appreciated.
Regards,
Grant

Hello MortalWomabat
Have you tried to adjust your wireless channels and in the advanced wireless settings enable beamforming and mumimo?
