satellite kills wired connections

I've discovered that if I break the wired connection between my router and satellite (then relying on wireless between the two), the wired connections from other devices start to work again almost immediately.
This seems a waste though of the cabling installed in my home from one room to another, and I don't understand why the wired arrangement would have worked ok before, but not now.
If this Orbi is less than 90 days old, I would not hesitate to use Netgear's 90 days of "Complimentary Support". On the Netgear product registration page, there is a link to "get support".
