School laptop is throwing a "your connection is not private" error
NOTE: I can't find the RBR40 model router to list but that is what I have. My daughter brought home her school laptop and we are having an issue. Her school uses a portal called "Clever". Sh...

With this being a school laptop, you may not have the option of loading a different web browser (sigh).
Modern browsers have become almost fanatical about protecting us from ourselves.
- They throw a fit if we attempt to connect to a web site that is not encrypted, such as (http://orbilogin.net )
- They refuse to connect if they detect anything unusual about the SSL certificate supplied by the web site.
(The most common complaint is about self-signed SSL certificates, such as the one Netgear uses on (https://orbilogin.net ) the encrypted version of the Orbi web interface.
It is not clear (to me) what Chrome means by "website sent back unusual and incorrect credentials".
Most of the time, I locate the option, often in very tiny print, that says, "go there anyway". The browser opens the web site, logs my instructions, and never bothers me again.
Try internet search for Chroms "website sent back unusual and incorrect credentials".

The other note is that it only does this on our network. The Chromebook and Chrome browser work fine on other networks. Just ours.

What modem/gateway is the router connected to?
do any other devices have issues logging into this clever site from your home network?

This is an Orbi RBR40.
My wife's iphone is also starting to have the same issue where she cannot access anything via the wifi and gets the same error on all webpages.
My daughter's laptop is still showing the same thing. I did get a Netgear "This device is blocked by Access Control in the router" error when trying to go to yahoo.com but Circle is off and Armor doesn't have a subscription. Am I missing some other form of access control?

Being blocked from only one web site (yahoo.com) seems unusual. There are indeed two methods to block devices from internet access (totally, not just web browsing or a single web site):
- The Orbi 'app' has a slider next to each device that can be moved to the right to Pause a device.
- The Orbi web interface (http://orbiloginnet ) on the Advanced Tab, the Security Menu has an feature called Access Control. (Personally, I do not enable this feature.)
Can you please post a screen shot from the Chrome Advanced Options description of the situation. (or from the wife's iPhone? I remain puzzled that there is no method to say, "just go there."
When an Orbi system is just "nutso", the last resort is the dreaded Factory Reset. Have you spent a lot of time and effort customizing the configuration?

yep, the RBR40 is the router. What modem/gateway do you have the RBR40 connected to?
