School laptop is throwing a "your connection is not private" error
NOTE: I can't find the RBR40 model router to list but that is what I have. My daughter brought home her school laptop and we are having an issue. Her school uses a portal called "Clever". Sh...

The other note is that it only does this on our network. The Chromebook and Chrome browser work fine on other networks. Just ours.

What modem/gateway is the router connected to?
do any other devices have issues logging into this clever site from your home network?

This is an Orbi RBR40.
My wife's iphone is also starting to have the same issue where she cannot access anything via the wifi and gets the same error on all webpages.
My daughter's laptop is still showing the same thing. I did get a Netgear "This device is blocked by Access Control in the router" error when trying to go to yahoo.com but Circle is off and Armor doesn't have a subscription. Am I missing some other form of access control?

Being blocked from only one web site (yahoo.com) seems unusual. There are indeed two methods to block devices from internet access (totally, not just web browsing or a single web site):
- The Orbi 'app' has a slider next to each device that can be moved to the right to Pause a device.
- The Orbi web interface (http://orbiloginnet ) on the Advanced Tab, the Security Menu has an feature called Access Control. (Personally, I do not enable this feature.)
Can you please post a screen shot from the Chrome Advanced Options description of the situation. (or from the wife's iPhone? I remain puzzled that there is no method to say, "just go there."
When an Orbi system is just "nutso", the last resort is the dreaded Factory Reset. Have you spent a lot of time and effort customizing the configuration?

Hello ElkanahLinnell ,
Welcome to the NETGEAR Community!
I understand that you are experiencing intermittent network connection issues with your RBR40. The network issues that you are experiencing can occur when the firmware on the product is not current. Please ensure that you are on the firmware version 2.7.4.24 then reboot your router. On your iOS device please be sure to Please turn off your private IP address if you are using an iOS device, please try turning off your private IP address.
To turn off the Private IP address please follow the directions listed below:
Open "Settings"
"Wi-Fi"
Select the "i" icon next to your connected network.
Toggle off "Private Wi-Fi Address"
Please keep me updated on the progress of this issue!
Best,
Kevin
