Security options for guest network for Orbi RBK40

Hello,

I have an Orbi RBR40 router with two add-on satellites (RBS40). Does anyone know if it is possible to activate WPA2 (AES) or WPA3 security for the guest network?

The only options I have in the Orbi app are WPA2-PSK and WPA-PSK/WPA2-PSK

Appreciate the help.

  • WPA2-PSK is using AES ...--PSK designates the pre-shared-key. "WPA2 (AES)" would be WPA2 with an external authentication and using AES encryption, somtimes also named - sometimes designated WPA2-Personal - to differentiate from WPA (TKIP) or WPA2 (TKIP) where bit are the same decribing WPA with TKIP.

This translates to WPA2-PSK (AES) resp. WPA-PSK (TKIP) / WPA2-PSK (AES)

No WPA3-Personal or WPA3-Personal/WPA2-Personal compatibility aka. WPA3-SAE Transition Mode on the guest network yet why ever.
