Security Settings for Netgear Orbi RBR50 (AC3000) - How to Set Up WPA3?
Hello everyone, I recently changed my Wi-Fi password for my Netgear Orbi RBR50 (AC3000), but now I'm getting a weak security warning. I've noticed that the internet suggests that WPA3 is currently t...

Does anyone have any idea how I can enhance the security of my Orbi RBR50 and enable WPA3? Or are there any other steps I should follow to address this security warning?
The Qualcomm chip set in the RBR50 product does not support WPA3, so the RBR50 will never offer that capability.
(As an 'aside', a huge percentage of existing WiFi devices also cannot support WPA3 and would be instantly disconnected if authentication was set to WPA3, which is why most implementations are a 'mix' of WPA2/WPA3.)
As michaelkenward indicated, it would help to know exactly what these Apple devices are complaining about.

Thnak you for your response. My Imac, Macbook, Iphone and Ipad all give the statement 'weak security'. Apple as well as any other website tells me this;
This is a problem that you should take immediate action on when you see it crop up. Ignoring this warning can lead to many problems related to data theft that you will want to avoid.
- Turn off Wi-Fi on your phone, especially if you are in a public place and are connected to the freely available Wi-Fi. There is nothing that you can do to improve the encryption and security of the Wi-Fi available in public places, so taking your phone off this network is a great place to start.
- If you are at home and this happens, you will need to take care of your internet connection’s encryption issues right away. You will still want to remove your phone from the Wi-Fi until you have corrected the issue.
- Sit down at your PC and access your wireless router settings. You might need to reach out to your internet provider if you are not able to locate the information that you need to correct this issue.
- Go to your Wireless Security Settings menu.
- Update the security protocol. This means that the wireless will be updated to WPA3 or WPA2-PSK + AES. Either of these are the latest security protocols that will resolve the “weak security” notification.
- Confirm that you want to save the upgrade. This should be done with a “save settings” button or something similar.
- Connect your iPhone to your Wi-Fi network once you have made these changes.
I don't have the WPA 3 so I don't why all these websites tells me to disconnect before it's fixed.

On the RBR50, the normal authentication setting is WPA2-PSK (AES), which should be acceptable. Here is a screen shot of my RBR50:
Modern web browsers have become paranoid about connecting to web sites that are not encrypted. i.e. the Orbi web interface is http://orbilogin.net (not https - "s" for "secure" - i.e. encrypted). Since the Orbi web interface can be accessed only from the Local Area Network (LAN), most of us choose to ignore this warning and tell the web browser, "It's MY damn router, just open the web site.")
